Lake Hills Community Development District
Lake Hills Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and established on January 26, 2026 by the Town Council of the Town of Howey-in-the-Hills, Lake County, Ordinance No. 2026-001, as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
Lake Hills CDD is located entirely within the boundaries of the City of Wildwood, Sumter County, Florida and covers approximately 218.93 acres of land. The real property within the boundaries of the District is generally located north of Highway 48 and west of Highway 19.
The powers and functions of the District are described in Chapter 190, Florida Statutes, as may be amended from time to time. The Charter of the District shall be as set forth in Chapter 190, Florida Statutes, as amended, as created by general law. The Town further consents to the District's exercise of special powers described in 190.012(2)(a), (c), (d), and (e), Florida Statutes, as may be amended from time to time.
